« If the Université de Montréal’s Mauricie Campus were a full-fledged faculty of medicine, the 28 students who graduated in 2010 would have ranked first, ahead of 17 faculties of medicine in Canada, based on results obtained at the Medical Council of Canada examinations » said Dr. Jean Rouleau, Dean, Faculty of Medicine of the Université de Montréal.
At the opening of the Campus facilities in 2009, the Québec Minister of Health and Social Services described the Campus as « Québec’s most beautiful medical campus! ».
« The Université de Montréal’s Mauricie Campus gave me, a native of Mauricie, the opportunity to complete all of my Doctor of Medicine training without leaving the region! During my training, I had outstanding exposure to health care users and personalized support from instructors that few colleagues receive at major university centres. As well, during my speciality training program, I felt comfortable training alongside colleagues from other universities. I now live in my native region, where I take great satisfaction in practising and teaching medicine! »
